Powder Effect is Eye Design’s exclusive micro-shading technique for brows, developed by our founder and Master Technician Nadia Afanaseva, and we are thrilled to be able to share it with beauty industry professionals (and aspiring brow artists!) from around the world!
Eye Design’s second Powder Effect MasterClass has just wrapped up. After the success of our first-ever training workshop for Eye Design’s signature micro-shading technique, we were thrilled to be able to do it all over again! It is always so exciting to meet new students or to see students from our Microblading MasterClass once more.

Both our Powder Effect MasterClass and our Microblading MasterClass include three full days. (Alternatively, students who do not wish to work on live models at this time can choose the two-day option, which does not include live-model practice.) Our MasterClasses are intensive training workshops developed by Eye Design’s highly experienced team to get students ready for the real world right away! Student technicians who are licensed tattoo artists in their state, county or township can begin working as soon as they leave our class. On Day 1, we get to know our students and the students get to know each other. The group setting provides all with priceless networking opportunities! It also allows us to share tips and tricks amongst each other. Before we move onto the day’s lecture and presentation, we discuss which students have experience in the beauty industry or in semi-permanent makeup, versus which students are completely new.
One of the best things about Eye Design’s MasterClasses is that they are suitable for both experienced technicians and aspiring technicians alike. Whether you want to change your career completely, or you are already a practicing brow artist who simply wants to learn Nadia’s techniques, MasterClass is the place for you!
The lecture and presentation include essential information on Powder Effect theory, as well as color theory, that allows you to create more beautiful, longer-lasting brows for your clients! Day 1 ends with a live-model demo by Eye Design founder and Master Technician Nadia Afanaseva. Students watch up-close as Nadia slowly goes through the entire Powder Effect procedure. From the drawing process to aftercare, you will get an in-depth look at this revolutionary technique.
Day 2 is much more hands on! After learning Eye Design’s exclusive 5-point drawing method, students begin practicing first with pencil and paper, then on artificial skin! We learn different brow shapes and pigment application patterns to suit all clients. Shapes and patterns differ from client to client based on their ethnicities, facial features and personal preferences. During our Powder Effect MasterClass, students also get a feel for the machine tool in their hands so that they are prepared for live-model practice.
Finally, Day 3 is the most fun. Each student works on two live models of their own with one-on-one guidance from Eye Design’s expert technicians! This technician-to-technician dynamic provides students with a unique learning experience they cannot find anywhere else. It gives them the confidence they need to start working on their own!
Each model is booked for four hours so that students have ample time and do not feel stressed or rushed during the process.
